Calumet is one of the best towns to visit in winter! A cozy stay at the historic Laurium Manor Inn, dinner at Michigan House Brewpub, the CopperDog 150 (dog sled races!), coffee from Keweenaw Coffee Works and pasties from Toni’s Country Kitchen, a wintry drive to Calumet Waterworks Park, drinks at Shute’s Saloon and dinner at Carmelita’s (gotta try their famous thimbleberry margarita!) 🍹
Christmas in Frankenmuth
One of my favorite holiday traditions is to go to Frankenmuth, Michigan. Such a festive cozy town full of Christmas magic. I always get an annual ornament from Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, grab drinks at Prost Wine Bar or Frankenmuth Brewery, stroll to each of the little shops, load up on cheese from the Frankenmuth Cheese Haus, and eat the best fried chicken dinner from Bavarian Inn. 🎅🏻🎄

Looking to spend a winter weekend in the Upper Peninsula? Here are some fun things to do near the Marquette area! Coffee from Velodrome, a small hike to Little Presque Isle, downtown shopping, dinner at one of our many cozy restaurants, an afternoon trip to Bond Falls (so amazing in winter!), a walk around Presque Isle Park, Laughing Whitefish Falls and a trip to the Eben Ice Caves (grab your Yaktrax!) ❄️
Fifth year… at the 510 Bridge in autumn! I decided to head out here midday, which I never do. I always wait til golden hour, and honestly, it was glorious because nobody was around and I was easily able to take photos and I didn’t miss peak colors! Yayyyy! But yeah, this spot is one of my absolute favorites in autumn, it’s easy to access, nearby parking, you can get views from the top of the new bridge and below on the old bridge, and if you haven’t been before in autumn, you just gotta goooo! 🍂
